Frequently Asked Questions

Will training in a group setting slow my progress down?

Actually a group setting can help you push your body further than you ever expected. People tend to work harder when they see the efforts from other people in class. Our experienced instructors will keep you motivated, make sure you use proper form, and won’t let you hide in the crowd during class.

I’m an endurance athlete- why do I need to worry about strength and conditioning?

One of the problems with being an endurance athlete is repetitive motion. Runners, swimmers, and cyclists suffer from this the most. Our programs will make you use full range of motion and help to counter act the chronic pains that plague these athletes. Increased core strength, increased neuromuscular control, greater power out put, increased muscular endurance, and having an overall balanced body are just a few of the reasons to consider a strength and conditioning program.

What is a good age to start a strength and conditioning program?

All of our programs are age appropriate. We focus on doing proper movements and scale weight according to age and ability. Developing endurance, stamina, strength, power, speed, flexibility, agility, accuracy, balance, and coordination at any age is an important part of overall development. At younger ages it is important to keep programs fun and full of new skills and challenges. As kids get older more sport specific movements can be added, the workouts get a little longer, and more physically demanding but again it is all based on ability. If I had to give an age to start I would say somewhere between 7 and 9.
